Cheers to Chimes…

Hi!

I found the most wonderful masterpiece the other day that I just had to share with you! The only thing better than the piece itself is the man and the story behind it.

From the tiny town of New London, Alabama, Steve Smith has been rescuing wine bottles doomed for the land fill for years. He takes the  previously discarded glass and melts it down. Then, he shapes and colors it. Then, he makes the pieces into different works of art. This is one of his fabulous wind chimes (it’s what first drew me in).

Steve and Sally Smith have a website and everything! Their business is called Camp Creek Creations…and I just love their stuff! Take a look Here.

Steve, who describes himself on their website as being in charge of “vague generalities and manual labor”, was such a nice guy, and I really enjoyed hearing him tell me about his work.

So, stop by Steve and Sally’s site. Tell them we sent you, and enjoy supporting a local family saving the earth, one lonesome wine bottle at a time.

Stay Curious,

-Lovely and Local
